Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books When You Need Something Light and Fun
This meme is hosted by the lovely ladies at The Broke and the Bookish. Go check them out.
Sometimes, when you have been spending a massive amount of time in the real world and less time in the world of fictional characters, there is a certain kind of book needed. Especially when everything around you is all intense and crazy. A light read is being called for!
1. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
I figure this one will be on a lot of people's list today. Seriously though, it's the perfect light read with tons of fun to be found among the pages.
2. The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot
3. My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
The whole story isn't super light, but it's a fun gooshy kind of novel that just makes me feel happy inside!
4. The Wayside books by Louis Sachar
I have always loved these books. I know that they are incredibly juvenile, but I still read them when I need a good laugh.
5. An Abundance of Katherines by John Green
Ok so John Green's books are amazing. For me though, this was the lightest of them, and it was laugh-out-loud kind of funny all throughout the story.
6. Hex Hall series by Rachel Hawkins
Nobody quite does light and humorous quite like Ms. Hawkins. I still pick up Hex Hall just to read some parts when I really need a pick-me-up.
7. Hourglass by Myra McEntire
The story is captivatingly interesting, and Emerson is my kind of funny. It's definitely one of my favorite light and super fun reads.
8. Elizabeth Eulberg's books
She is hilarious. And her books are super light. And there is always lots of fun to be found!
9. Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill
Light and fluffy and set in London. Three things that are very needed to relax!
10. The Ghost Soliders by James Tate
This is actually a book of poetry. But the poetry is hilarious and always have me feeling much better in no time.
Sorry that I didn't have time to link all of the books to Goodreads. I just didn't have time this week.
