Top Ten "Books I Tell Others They HAVE TO HAVE" Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Books I Recommend the Most
This meme is hosted by the lovely ladies at The Broke and the Bookish.  Go check them out.

Working in a bookstore, I learned real fast that I needed to have some go-to books for those customers who want something good but have no idea what that is.  When I made this list, I thought about books that I have recommended the most during those bookish job experiences.  Each book has a link that goes to the summary on Goodreads.

1.  Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
2.  Identical by Ellen Hopkins
3.  Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi
4.  The Only Alien on the Planet by Kristen D. Randel
5.  To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
6.  Just Listen by Sarah Dessen
7.  The Selection by Kiera Cass
8.  The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
9.  The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
10.  Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer

Do you have some books to recommend?  Leave your link!

  1. I adore To Kill a Mockingbird, and a Sarah Dessen book made my TTT list too! :) My TTT list: http://aliceinreaderland.com/2013/03/25/mostrecommended/

    Alice @ Alice in Readerland

  2. Yes to Kill a Mockingbird. I have a few of these on my TBR list and am waiting for my request to come through for Anna and the French Kiss from the library.

    Jessica @ Literary, etc

  3. THG series made a lot of lists today and I'm so glad because the books are super awesome! Great list!

    Happy reading!
    My TTT

  4. Yes, I love to hear both recommendations and the why behind them.

Here's my list of Top Ten Books I Recommend!

  5. I just read the book description for The Selection and it sounds like a great escape! And, I want that dress on the cover to wear while reading it :) Have a great week!
    Happy Reading,
Rebecca @ The Key to the Gate

  6. Under the Never Sky is on my list too - it's my favorite dystopian book ever! I've also read Hunger Games and The Selection and loved those too!

  7. Whenever I have a friend who I really want to get hooked on YA, I always start with Anna and the French Kiss! It's perfect and it usually does the trick! They come back to me asking for more so I introduce them to Lola and Cricket and then they're hooked! haha This makes me sound really manipulative, but I promise I'm not! haha Just a good librarian! :p

  8. I loved Under the Never Sky and Just Listen. And everyone's really making me feel lame for never having read any (I know, so bad) John Green or Stephanie Perkins.

  9. Excellent list! I also used to work in a bookstore and would love it when someone would pick up a book simply because I could not stop gushing about it. I was working the Christmas after The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton got popular and that was my go to for anyone looking for a book for a female. I handsold the crap out of it! lol I would also try and push Sarah Dessen on anyone looking for a YA book but, alas, I was working in the vampire heyday in a small store that seemed to be full of dark books and no one wanted the awesomeness that is Dessen. :)

We would love it if you left your Twitter username and a link to your blog!
